The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is helping companies to fund flexi-work arrangements by giving out grants. Companies can apply for the grant to encourage their employees to travel to work early.
In a bid to move more commuters to travel out of the morning peak hours, LTA launched a Travel Smart Network yesterday to help firms bear the cost of developing flexible work arrangements.
LTA will give out grants of $30,000 for companies to hire consultants, on top of yearly grants of up to $80,000, for three years, to build transport infrastructure. The LTA will contribute 80 percent of the cost while the company bears the remaining 20 percent.
Companies can also apply for additional grants of $80,000 a year, for three years, to fund promotional activities which will be co-funded on a 50:50 split basis.
Infrastructure and activities can include bicycle parking facilities such as lockers and racks or conversion of car parks to bicycle parks, shower facilities, Travel Smart Day or forums to promote flexi-work arrangements, and morning exercise sessions or breakfast vouchers to attract employees to come to work earlier.
