The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is working to fund companies to provide flexible travel plans for their staff in a bid to help promote the free off-peak travel programme.
Mrs. Josephine Teo, Senior Minister of State for Transport, said the LTA plans to partner companies that are based close to MRT stations and have more than 200 staff for its Travel Smart Network initiative.
Companies are liable to receive as much as over half a million in funding from the authority over three years. They can also apply for a $30,000 grant to engage approved consultants to develop travel demand management plans, as well as to apply an annual $160,000 grant for three years to co-fund initiatives such as construction of bicycle parking facilities.
This move will help promote the free off-peak travel programme, which was recently extended by a year.
