Mazda has revealed its new CX-80, the fourth model from its Large Product Group after the CX-90, CX-70, and CX-60, the last of which arrived on our own shores in July of 2023.
As with the other models from the firm's Large Product Group, the CX-80 makes use of a longitudinal front-engine rear-wheel drive layout. Under the bonnet, the Mazda CX-60 is being offered in the U.K. with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that makes use of a 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G engine alongside a 173bhp electric motor and a 17.8kWh battery.
The Mazda CX-80 is being offered with either two captain's chairs or a three-person bench in its second row
Also available is Mazda's 251bhp six-cylinder 3.3-litre e-Skyactiv D diesel engine. Both these drivetrains will be matched to an all-wheel drive system in the CX-80.
Next to the Mazda CX-60, the CX-80 comes in with a wheelbase that is 250mm longer, and a total height that stretches 26mm taller. This extra space allows the SUV to offer seating for seven across three rows in its cabin.

Customers in the U.K. will be able to choose between a three-person bench, two captain's chairs with a walk-through space, or two captain's seats alongside a fixed centre console for the second row of the car. Also set to feature here is Amazon Alexa, which will allow users to control the settings for the air-conditioning, navigation, and third-party apps, all via voice commands.
Mazda will be offering the CX-80 with two new paint colours in the U.K. The first, Artisan Red, is created from Mazda's Takuminuri painting technology and described as evoking an even deeper refinement than the popular Soul Red Crystal thanks to its use of a darker and deeper shade of red. The second, called Melting Copper, is said to imitate light sandblasting to the surface of copper which is then melted and then allowed to cool and harden.
