Motul launches next gen lubricants for hybrid engines

Motul has launched its new NGEN range, which are next gen lubricants developed to support modern hybrid engines while reducing environmental impact.
Joining Motul's existing range of products, which includes the NGEN Hybrid 0W-16, 0W-20, NGEN Matic ATF VI, and E Dot 5.1, are two latest and new additions - the NGEN Hybrid 0W-8 and E-Fuel System Care.
The NGEN Hybrid 0W-8 is an ultra-low viscosity engine oil developed for modern hybrid engines. Formulated with re-refined base oil and packaged with recyclable materials, it promotes fuel efficiency and performance, improves oil flow and start up and stop/start events, and minimises greenhouse gas emissions. This product is currently available in Japan.
The E-Fuel System Care helps to optimise fuel quality, protects fuel systems from oxidation and deposits, enhances engine performance by cleaning injectors for better combustion, and offer greater durability and driving comfort. This product will be available from June 2026.
Additionally, according to a 77-day field study conducted by the Centre for Environmental Sustainability at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, it found that lower-viscosity engine oils contribute to improved fuel efficiency. The findings also showed that advanced hybrid-specification formulations are capable of maintaining effective engine protection and wear levels when compared to higher viscosity oils.
And by reducing internal friction and supporting cleaner combustion, these oils help minimise engine wear, limit deposit formation, and contribute to lower fuel consumption and emissions over time.
As such, Motul's continued development of NGEN solutions is committed to helping drivers optimise performance, durability, and sustainability in hybrid vehicles.
