SP Group launches first EV fast charging hub in HDB carpark

SP Mobility, part of the broader SP Group (SP), has taken a step closer to the Singapore Green Plan 2030 initiative with the launch of the city state's first EV fast-charging hub at a HDB carpark in Tengah.
The EV fast-charging hub comprises eight DC fast-charging points offering a maximum of up to 100kW, as well as six AC charging points with a rate of 7.4kW each. It is located at the HDB carpark serving residential blocks 123 and 129, beside Plantation Plaza - Tengah's first neighbourhood mall.
This launch event was attended by Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of National Development and the Ministry of Transport, as well as Choo Pei Ling, Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC.
You may remember the former for her "promise" at her ministry’s Committee of Supply debate in March 2026, where she said that every HDB town will have an EV fast-charging hub by the end of 2027.
And that guarantee seems to be holding firm, with SP Mobility announcing that it will also be deploying fast-charging hubs across HDB estates at Bedok North Avenue 3, Teck Whye Lane, Pipit Road (Macpherson), Jurong East Street 31, Tampines Street 34, and Woodlands Street 13, as well as at the Bukit Canberra and Jurong West Sports Centres.
These deployments will be rolled out progressively from early 2027.
And to enhance the charging experience, eligible customers with SP Mobility accounts can earn ChargeUp rewards points with every charging session and redeem them on the SP app to offset future charging bills.
Having deployed the town's first public EV chargers in February 2025, SP will continue to expand charging across multiple Tengah precincts, including the installation of additional DC fast-charging points in new Tengah carparks where power is available in tandem with the town's development.
