Power output remains unchanged, but the Spec V gets a new high gear boost control device, which briefly increases boost of the twin turbochargers for greater torque in the intermediate-to-high speed ranges.
Nissan says that the GT-R Spec V is 60kg lighter than the normal GT-R. Carbon fibre is used throughout the car, including the brake ducts, grille, spoiler, seats, and trim. There is also a new optional Ultimate Black Opal paintjob for the Spec V. The GT-R Spec V is expected to be delivered to European customers by April or May 2010.
