Nissan has revealed the first details of the modified cars that it will showcase at the 2023 SEMA show in the U.S.A come 31 October at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.
The lineup starts with the Project Rugged Rogue, which imagines the Rogue SUV for family adventures that include some off-road travel and camping. The concept utilises prototype NISMO off-road components including a suspension lift kit, off-road wheels wrapped in Yokohama Geolandar tyres, and an off-road dual exit centre exhaust. The modified Rogue also gets carbon fibre fender flares and a carbon fibre rear spoiler, as well as a kayak and mountain bike racks mounted on its roof.
Also set to premiere at the SEMA show is the Nissan Sentra DET Concept. This concept pays homage to Nissan's past, utilising an acronym that has adorned engines from cars from the firm's past including the Silvia, Pulsar GTI-R, Skyline and Stagea. The concept fittingly, gets a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine paired to a six-speed manual transmission, as well as a prototype stainless-steel NISMO B18 performance exhaust system, which Nissan states gives the car a deep engine note.
Other performance enhancements for the Nissan Sentra DET concept include a prototype NISMO coilover suspension featuring twin-tube shocks and linear-rate springs, said to be developed by GT4 professional Racer Bryan Heitkotter. These will hold 18-inch NISMO LM-RS6 wheels wrapped in high-performance Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 tyres.
Also set to be showcased at the show is the Frontier Off-Road Race Truck. The result of a collaboration between Nissan and Forsberg Racing, the off-road race truck has been developed for the rigors of the NORRA 500 off-road race.
