Peugeot has updated its 208 supermini.
Up front, the supermini's iconic vertical light claws have been moved from the head lights into the gloss black inserts on the front bumper to give the car a broader stance, a move that we also saw on the updated Peugeot 508.
The Peugeot 208 also now gets a body-coloured front grille that sports the latest Peugeot logo, both touches we first saw on the 408. And the front, side and rear nameplates on the new 208 also feature new lettering, now finished in Basalt Grey.
The rear of the supermini also gets a redesigned light signature, with the three-claw elements at either end now placed horizontally. This updated Peugeot 208 gets a new Selenium Grey exterior colour, while the E-208 also now gets a new Agueda Yellow colour.
In the cabin, the Peugeot 208 retains its 10-inch digital instrument cluster, although a 10-inch central infotainment screen is now standard throughout the range. 'Allure' and 'GT' trim cars also now get three USB-C sockets as standard alongside a USB-A socket in the rear. Meanwhile, the 'Allure' trim cars can also be had with an upgraded wireless smartphone charger, which is standard for 'GT' trim cars.
Those that opt for the Peugeot E-208 now get a 154bhp motor animated by a 51kWh battery too. Peugeot states that this new drivetrain will offer a range of 400km, and can be charged at up to 100kW via a direct current source. Maximum charging speed via an alternating current source is 7.4kW, although customers may opt to raise this to 11kW.
Petrol-powered versions of the Peugeot 208 include two new 99bhp and 134bhp mild hybrid drivetrains paired to a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The supermini can also be had with either a petrol-only 75bhp 1.2-litre engine paired to a five-speed manual gearbox, or a 100bhp 1.2-litre engine paired to a six-speed manual gearbox.
