Renault has offered up the first teaser images of the new Renault 5 E-Tech electric.
The car will measure in a 3,920mm long, and will come equipped with a 52kWh battery that will allow it to offer a WLTP range of 400km. Renault states that the car will be built atop a new AmpR Small platform, and come complete with a multi-link suspension at the rear.
The teaser images reveal that the Renault 5 E-Tech electric will ditch the rectangular-shaped head lights of the Renault 5 concept, and instead sport some uniquely shape items that come complete with a mark in their centres which is said to resemble the pupil of the human eye - a nod to a 1972 advert titled The Adventures of Supercar - and done to give the car a human-like expression.
Renault has also opted to ditch the air intake that is present on the historic Renault 5, to highlight the new car’s all-electric nature. In place of this intake is now a charge indicator light, that forms the number 5 when the vehicle is fully charged.
And at the rear, the car is set to sport vertical taillights, housed within an extending panel that is said to aid aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle by reducing turbulence.
Renault has additionally revealed that the car will come with its own avatar, named Reno. This avatar is said to allow the Renault 5 E-Tech electric to deliver a human-like digital experience.
The Renault 5 E-Tech will make its global premiere come 26 February 2024 at the Geneva International Motor Show.
