Rolls-Royce has revealed a special shoreline inspired Fascia in celebration of the ninth year of London Craft Week.
Inspired by the French Riviera, the fascia replicates the French golden sands with Ash Burr - its lightest veneer - utilised as the base of the fascia. A special 'candy' paint - a light translucent paint that gradually builds up to appear darker in colour - was also created to mimic the deep hues of the Mediterranean waters. One individual at Rolls-Royce also sketched the outline of the waves, before they were spray painted and the finer details brushed on.
The sandy Mediterranean beaches are replicated by the use of an Ash Burr veneer, while the blue ocean is created by using a special 'candy' translucent paint The artwork was finally lacquered multiple times before being meticulously hand polished to achieve a perfectly smooth finish.
The firm has also revealed a special headliner, created by hand painting a beautiful image of a coastal town in the French Riviera onto Turchese leather. This leather was then embroidered with stitching in four different colours - Lemon, Iceland Moss, Sheida Pink and Fame Green - to replicate the vivacious hues typical for the region.
The headliner additionally features 3D flowers, made entirely from thread, and individually embroidered onto the main canvas piece.
These special headliner and fascia will be displayed in the window of Rolls-Royce's flagship showroom in Berkeley Street, Mayfair, U.K., from 8 to 14 May 2023.
