SERES 3 teased at 2024 Motor Show, to be launched by Q2 2024

SERES is not a name many Singaporeans may be familiar with yet, but that could change when its first model hits our shores.
Previewed for the first time at the 2024 Singapore Motor Show (though not officially for sale yet), the SERES 3 is an all-electric compact SUV that is said to be "aimed at budget-minded buyers". Its dealer, Hong Seh EVolution, is targeting an official launch for the model by the second quarter of this year. The SERES brand is part of the larger SERES Group, which counts DFSK Motor (also under Hong Seh) as a subsidiary.
A large part of its appeal towards budget-minded buyers will likely be down to its powertrain. Its single electric motor is capable of sending 99kW (or 133bhp) to the front wheels, thus allowing the SERES 3 to be eligible for a Category A COE. Furthermore, a 54kWh battery is said to give it a range of more than 300km when fully charged, and also support fast charging from 20 to 80% within just 30 minutes.
As the SERES 3 is still being homologated, the actual specifications and features for the car cannot be fully confirmed yet, but it is likely to be offered in two trim levels when it is eventually launched. The base trim should already get 18-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights, as well as a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Stepping up to the more expensive trim should add on goodies such as a panoramic sunroof, a premium speaker system, and safety assistance features including a Lane Departure Warning System.
Budget-oriented EVs are increasingly becoming commonplace in Singapore, and while the competition is stiff, Hong Seh seems quite confident that the SERES 3 will appeal to consumers based on value. Specifically, a spokesperson for the dealer states that the model will undercut BYD's bestselling Atto 3 in terms of pricing when it is eventually launched.
The SERES 3 can now be viewed up close at the Hong Seh EVolution's booth at Level 3 of the Suntec Convention Centre.
