Shell Germany and Volkswagen have opened the first 150kW Elli Flexpole charging station at a Shell service station in Gottingen, Germany.
This Flexpole charging station, just like the Audi charging hubs, make use of a battery storage system that enable them to offer high-speed charging without the need to be connected to a high-voltage electrical supply or a special transformer, significantly reducing its installation time. This means that these charging stations can be installed easily and flexibly, allowing the network of chargers available to grow.
Volkswagen states that with this 150kW charging speed, a range of up to 160km can be added to a vehicle within 10 minutes.
Shell and Volkswagen intend to install more Flexpole charging stations at other locations within Germany and Europe, following the successful test operation of this first station.
