Skoda owners apparently have quite the eclectic taste, or, those in the U.K. do at least.
The firm has announced that the most popular colour for its cars in the country in 2023 was blue, and that one in three cars sold in the country was non-monochrome - with vivid options including Hyper Green, Phoenix Orange and Velvet Red - bucking the trend of opting for a grey exterior, which has been ranked the U.K. top choice for the sixth year in a row, according to data released by the U.K. Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
Grey, black, and white cars are said to make up the majority of new car colours in the U.K., comprising 63.5% of the market. Grey is also said to have been popular with Skoda buyers in 2023, accounting for 26% of total sales, ahead of black at 17%, but blue still managed to trump both options, accounting for 30% of all Skoda cars sold in the U.K. in 2023.
Skoda states that buyers of the Enyaq, Octavia, Fabia, Kamiq, Kodiaq and Scala were the biggest fans of the colour blue, as it was the number one seller for each. Red was also identified as a popular choice for the firm's customers, with Velvet Red and Corrida Red available on the Enyaq.
