The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has arrived in Singapore.
180mm longer than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is available here with a two-tone exterior paint finish.
The distinctive chromed fin on the bonnet alongside the Mercedes-Maybach radiator grille also help to set the super luxury car apart. From the flank, there are also longer rear doors, while the C-pillars feature a fixed quarter light, alongside the Maybach brand logo.
You won't have any difficult opening or closing those doors either, with electronic assistance ensuring they always remain easy to open or close, even when the car is parked on an incline.
Step inside and there are all the usual hallmarks of a Maybach to cocoon you in absolute comfort. At the rear, passengers get a seat belt extender, so they need not so much as stretch to secure themselves.
The Executive Seats at the rear also come with a calf rest and calf massager, stimulating blood circulation and countering fatigue after those long days at the boardroom.
12.8-inch central display pairs with 12.3-inch drivers display in the cabin, with all screens utilising OLED technology This will no doubt work well with the rest of the seat massagers, which are now able to vibrate in accordance to the music played from the Burmester speaker system and deliver a listening experience that can be felt through the seats.
Then there is also the option to get a refrigerated compartment in the rear armrest, allowing passengers to easily access chilled drinks and food. The 10-litre compartment can, of course, also be had with the optional silver-plated champagne goblets, and comes with two holders in the centre console, designed to securely hold the goblets when on the move.
To ensure that those seated in the car are never disturbed, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class improves on the already excellent chassis of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class with additional sound absorbing foam in its wheel arches, while the fixed triangle windows in the C-pillars also have thicker laminated glass.
Noise-optimised tyres with foam absorbers are available for the Mercedes-Maybach, while active road noise compensation technology is now utilised on the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class for the first time.
Further aiding isolation in the cabin is Mercedes' Airmatic air suspension with level control and continuously adjustable damping. This pairs with the firm's E-Active Body Cotnrol active suspension to control the spring and damper forces at each wheel individually in response to road imperfections detected by a stereo camera at the front of the car.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is offered with two levels of rear-wheel steering to ensure manoeuvrability in tight spaces alongside higher stability at high speeds.
The Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic is available here powered by a 493bhp 4.0-litre V8 producing 800Nm of torque. All-wheel drive will come as standard.
