The new Lexus GS F is medical car for the 2016 V8 Supercars Championship

The all new Lexus GS F high-performance sedan will provide critical support during life-threatening emergencies in the 2016 V8 Supercars Championship as the series' new official medical car.

The GS F combines a high-performance powertrain featuring a 471bhp V8 powerplant and a dynamic four-door sedan body to provide the pace to scramble to incidents and the space to accommodate lifesaving equipment and personnel, including V8 Supercars' medical delegate Dr. Carl Le.

The new GS F medical car headlines the 2016 Lexus V8 Supercar support fleet in the Japanese luxury marque's second year of partnership with the championship. The 2016 lineup also includes the RC F V8 Safety Car and newly introduced IS 200t F Sport course car. 

Lexus Australia Chief Executive Peter McGregor said the GS F was the ultimate vehicle for the medical car role. "The new GS F perfectly integrates the honed performance of the Lexus F line with the acclaimed GS to deliver a supremely balanced, engaging sedan," Mr. McGregor said. "It will provide a reassuring presence in V8 Supercars this year, ready to deploy Dr. Le rapidly to the scene of accidents so he can provide drivers with urgent medical attention."
