Hyundai has announced that the Ioniq 6 has received an EPA estimated maximum range of 580km in the U.S.A.
This range is for the long range, rear-wheel drive Ioniq 6, which comes with a 77.4kWh battery and a 225bhp output, and runs on 18-inch rims. For comparison, the rear-wheel drive Ioniq 6, with a 77.4kWh battery and a 320bhp total output, has been rated by the agency with a range of 435km when equipped with 20-inch rims.
Hyundai attributes the high range of the Ioniq 6 to the low drag coefficient of its exterior. This aerodynamic efficiency comes courtesy of a low nose, active air flaps, an elliptical wing-inspired spoiler, as well as a full underbody cover, deflectors and reduced wheel-arch gaps, among other touches.
