Volkswagen ID.3 GTX gets special Fire+Ice edition

Winter isn't exactly coming just yet, but Volkswagen has already unveiled its new Fire+Ice special edition ID.3 GTX, designed in collaboration with Munich-based luxury sports fashion brand Bogner.

A homage to the special edition Golf Mk2 created in collaboration with Fashion Designer and Director Willy Bogner, this ID.3 GTX Fire+Ice mirrors the classic car with a special three-layer paint complete with a glass bead effect.

The cabin of the Fire+Ice special edition ID.3 GTX comes with Flaming Red accents of the driver's side, and Ice Blue ones on the passenger's side, and features seats that can be unzipped to reveal the original Fire+Ice fabric from the 1990s underneath

This finish is presented in Electric Violet pearl, which changes from dark blue to violet or even black depending on the direction from which the light approaches it. Up top, its roof frame strip comes in Flaming Red, while its sides get transparent matt foiling in a geometric pattern. An original Fire+Ice logo from the 1990s adorns the car's B-pillar and the roof edge spoiler.

Inside, the car comes with Flaming Red accents on the driver's side. These appear on the seats and seams on the driver's side as well as the seat behind, while the passenger side gets these in Ice Blue. These seats are also quilted and reflect the design of the Bogner's Fire+Ice down jackets. Pull down on those iconic B-zippers, and they reveal the original Fire+Ice fabric from the 1990s underneath.

The car also gets stainless steel pedals that feature a Fire+Ice design in lieu of the Play/Pause design, while its instrument panel and floor mats also get a special laser-engraved pattern.

The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX Fire+Ice comes with a 322bhp output and delivers a maximum torque of 545Nm, allowing it to reach 100km/h from a standstill in 5.7 seconds. This power comes courtesy of a 79kWh battery which can be charged at up to 185kW and gives the car a WLTP range of 601km.
