Volkswagen Jetta gets updated in the U.S.A

Volkswagen has revealed the updated Jetta and Jetta GLI for the U.S.A market.

Up front, the Jetta gets redesigned upper and lower grilles, alongside new LED head lights. The car is also now available with a light bar (for upper trim models). At the rear, both cars also get a new standard light bar that connects both taillights. The Jetta is also now offered with two new exterior colours: Monterey Blue Pearl and Monument Grey.

Inside, the car now gets a redesigned dashboard, while the central infotainment system is now housed within an 8.0-inch display as standard. Volkswagen has also added features including satellite radio, voice control, as well as wireless charging and wireless App-Connect to more trim levels of the Jetta, and the car can be had with a sunroof.

The Jetta is offered in the U.S.A with Rhombus cloth seats in either Titan Black or Storm Grey as standard, although 'Sport' trim models will get embossed molekular cloth seats, a nod to the GLI 40^th Edition. Two-tone Microcloud leatherette seats are offered for 'SEL' trim models.

The dashboard of the sedan has also been redesigned, while the 8.0-inch infotainment screen is now standard in the U.S.A

The Volkswagen Jetta comes with a 156bhp 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Volkswagen GLI, meanwhile, comes powered by a 2.0-litre engine that offers 225bhp and 350Nm of torque, which can still be paired with either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.

The GLI also comes with larger brakes, an electronically-controlled torque-sensing limited-slip differential, an adaptive damping system, and a sport exhaust system. GLI models also come equipped with new perforated Vienna leather seating surfaces in Grey/Red Crust/Titan Black with red contrast stitching, alongside a Magnum matte decor.

The revamped Jetta lineup is expected to reach dealers across the U.S.A by the third quarter of 2024.
