Volkswagen tops U.K. sales for third year running

Volkswagen has emerged as the U.K.'s best-selling new car brand in 2023. The marque sold a total of 162,087 passenger vehicles in 2023, an increase of more than 30,000 vehicles compared to 2022. The achievement makes the brand the best-selling marque in the U.K. for the third year running.

The firm states that its ID.3 and the ID.4 where among the top-10 best-selling electric vehicles in the country for 2023. Also assisting the strong sales figures was the refreshed Touareg, as well as limited edition models including the Polo GTI Edition 25 and Golf Black Edition.

Volkswagen states that it will bolster its all-electric offering in the U.K. in 2024 with the introduction of the ID.7 and ID.7 Tourer. Also planned for this new year in the U.K. is the introduction of the new Tiguan and Passat, alongside the host of celebrations to mark the Golf's 50th anniversary.
