A heavily modified street-legal Ford GT tuned by Power Racing has set the Guinness World Record for fastest speed in a street-legal car. The Ford GT features two turbos and various components made from 'pandalloy' - a high-strength aerospace grade aluminum alloy. With 1,700bhp on tap, this Ford GT managed an impressive top speed of 455.82km/h in a distance of 1.6km. The feat was accomplished in a space shuttle landing runway facility at Florida's Kennedy Space Center.
In contrast James May from Top Gear accomplished an average of 417km/h in a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport at Volkswagen's test track while Bugatti's test driver accomplished an average of 431km/h.
