Xiaomi debuts new e-scooter, concept electric hypercar

On 28 February 2026, global consumer electronics giant Xiaomi revealed a host of new products, including the likes of new smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and even a Leica Leitzphone collaboration.
Amidst all those new product announcements, two are worth highlighting within the mobility space.
The first is a new series of electric scooters, dubbed the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Series. Performance ranges from 300W to 500W, with the range-topping model able to produce 1,200W in Boost mode.
For car lovers (and gamers), Xiaomi is also introducing a new concept hypercar. The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo now joins the ranks of the Vision Gran Turismo project. As part of the Gran Turismo game franchise, these Vision cars often see manufacturers exploring the virtual limits of performance, while also taking bold futuristic stabs in terms of design and function.
Xiaomi says that the car is "sculpted by the wind" (which car isn't, though). Its teardrop-shaped cockpit, clearly taking inspiration of race cars, is housed within a body formed with numerous cutouts and air ducts. There's also a distinctive halo-shaped taillight that serves both as a visual signature, but also a humongous air outlet. Xiaomi says that with innovations like Active Wake Control System and Accretion Rims, the car achieves a drag coefficient of 0.29, downforce of -1.2, and an aerodynamic efficiency rating of 4.1 through iterative simulated testing, reaching new heights in balancing low drag and high downforce for electric hypercars.
Underneath the hypercar silhouette, the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo showcases the "Sofa Racer" concept. The dashboard, door panels, and seats flow together as one cohesive loop, a cocoon-like cabin that gently envelops the driver. Equipped with intelligent features including Xiaomi Pulse, which interacts with the driver through light and sound, the space creates an experience best described as racing on a sofa (Xiaomi is very much leaning into the gamer-aeshtetic here).
While it is certainly only a virtual product now, Xiaomi isn't necessarily a stranger to the actual car game. We've already seen the SU7 Ultra make an appearance in Singapore last year, so this could be a peek into future plans for the brand when it comes to four-wheeler products.
