There are cars that impress you by offering value-for-money. There are models that leave you gobsmacked with their long list of standard high-tech features. But what allowed the Aion V to leave the most lasting impression was the fact that it also has features you don't typically find in this segment.
The front seats, for instance, are not only heated and ventilated, but also come with eight-point massage functions with five programmes to choose from. At the rear, there's an airplane-style tray table, and surprisingly, reclinable rear seats. Oh, and there's also a fridge/warmer so you can have cool drinks on hot days and warm drinks on rainy ones.
As a Cat A electric crossover, the Aion V doesn't have scorching performance. Yet it continues to impress with its silky, progressive power delivery (yes, even for an EV), which complements the pliant ride and quiet cabin, the latter courtesy of the acoustic front windows.
Aion probably thought these goodies still weren't enough. So, in Luxury trim, the V has a 75.3kWh battery. It's the largest in the segment, giving it 485km - the longest driving range in its class. To top that off, it also has a maximum charging rate of 180kW. With such a complete package, it's no wonder that the Aion V has been named the 2025 Electric Crossover of the Year.
