Aion V Electric
The Aion V offers a value-for-money proposition. Its standard equipment includes ventilated front seats with massage functions, reclining rear seat backs, and a storage box that can set to either be a freezer or a warmer. The V also has one of the largest battery capacities in its segment: At 75.3kWh, the SUV can travel up to 485km before needing a recharge. The smooth ride and linear power delivery further enhance its appeal.

Bought the AION V Premium in Dec 2025 before the last 2025 COE bidding. Thus far definitely a good decision, especially with the VINCAR Circle stuff (although some quite gimmicky) and the 10-year free servicing. This was 8NG and its only 2-year free servicing for 8NG now ?Coming from a tiny 1.2 ICE vehicle, this has been a major upgrade in every single way. ? Comfort? Pick-up? Moonroof? Handling? Space (especially if you have kids)SA was also decent and not overly pushy. Didnt throw in much freebies but still I found it was a good price compared to the other EVs.What really sealed the deal is seeing many of these on the road in Shanghai. If it can handle the situation there, it can definitely handle Singapore lol.

pound for pound best value money can buy.Smooth ride, extremely comfortable and very quiet. Seats are super comfy.A very good family car and elderly friendly.

What drew me to the Aion V Luxury were the features. No other car came close at this price point. When we first sat inside the showroom model, we were sold immediately. Plush leather seats, built-in massage, voice commands, fast charging, and a cabin that felt far more premium than expected. For what it costs, it already feels like you are stepping into the future.Driving it is pure calm. The cabin is whisper quiet, so quiet that I no longer wear my AirPods Pro and rarely turn the music past level 1. The ride feels smooth and spacious, with plenty of legroom and thoughtful details that make every trip a small retreat. The massage function is a personal favourite, especially in traffic. Range has never been a worry, and the car

Been looking around for an EV given that the push for EV is harder towards the end of the year. Few models in mind when I check out, Sealion &, Atto3 and Aion V. The Sealion 7, very common on the road now and very well built, but given the steep price even for the CAT A trim, it doesn't add up getting it especially they have taken quite a fair bit of features out from the CAT B trim. The difference is not just the COE but a lot more. So dropped out look 1 tier down, which left us with Atto3 and Aion V. Atto3, nothing unfamiliar with the car given that Grabride had already been using it, nothing more of an upgrade from my current ride and frankly the built quality of Atto3 isn't really impressive, if compared to the Sealion 7. Here, decided to drop by Aion showroom to check out the V. First thing after stepping into the showroom was greeted by the side view of the V, reminding me of a range rover. Was than introed to the car of 2 different trims, the Premium and the Luxury. All I could say is that this car has got almost everything, even for the lower Premium range. Comparing to my current ICE ride, this car almost have everything that I'm looking for an upgrade. The only difference between the Premium and Luxury were the battery size, massage chair, fridge (yes fride), leather seats, cabin mirror and DMS. If you are looking at something more straightfoward without some fanciful stuff, Premium trim would be more than sufficient and saving you some bucks every month. But if you have got money to spare, go for the luxury trim, and you would have everything it can offer. Frankly, if you are looking at an EV which is a sub-compact/mid-size SUV and not extremely heavy on your pockets, give Aion a chance and check out the V. You won't be disappointed if you are comparing directly to the mentioned choices.
Verdict
There are cars that impress you by offering value-for-money. There are models that leave you gobsmacked with their long list of standard high-tech features. But what allowed the Aion V to leave the most lasting impression was the fact that it also has features you don't typically find in this segment.

The front seats, for instance, are not only heated and ventilated, but also come with eight-point massage functions with five programmes to choose from. At the rear, there's an airplane-style tray table, and surprisingly, reclinable rear seats. Oh, and there's also a fridge/warmer so you can have cool drinks on hot days and warm drinks on rainy ones.

As a Cat A electric crossover, the Aion V doesn't have scorching performance. Yet it continues to impress with its silky, progressive power delivery (yes, even for an EV), which complements the pliant ride and quiet cabin, the latter courtesy of the acoustic front windows.

Aion probably thought these goodies still weren't enough. So, in Luxury trim, the V has a 75.3kWh battery. It's the largest in the segment, giving it 485km - the longest driving range in its class. To top that off, it also has a maximum charging rate of 180kW. With such a complete package, it's no wonder that the Aion V has been named the 2025 Electric Crossover of the Year.
