Having problem with my gear shift on my VW Sharan. Went to several reknown VW workshops for diagnostic and was advised to change the Mechatronic unit. However, I was not convinced hence I went to Doctor Gearbox for opinion before I proceed with the MU replacement. Diagnostic did not show any fault but was I was pleased when their technical agreed to take my car for a spin for further check. And true enough, the gear fault surfaced and I was told it was not the MU but the transmission parts problem. The repair cost was significantly lower and I was very pleased with the professionalism of Ah Hui and his team. Will definitely recommend my friends to their workshop. - Jason Ho

Recently, my Honda Jazz was experiencing some "choke" when accelerating. Last Thursday, I had my car diagnosed at other workshop but unable to pin point the issue after struggling for one whole morning. Originally identified as plug coil problem, the issue became serious with blinking "D" gear sign with engine fault sign on together at the same time. Some initial computer analysis identified CVT speed sensor fault and even with one brand new speed sensor installed at 3 different locations, issue persisted. Being frustrated, I sent my car back to Kah Motor (Honda local distributor, thinking they should be the best to troubleshoot and fix the car); and after 1 day analysis by them, I was quoted $3000++ for overhauling the gearbox and need to wait 7 working days. I helpless agreed to proceed on Friday evening and was informed that Saturday is considered not a "working day". I changed my mind later as the workshop introduced Ah Hui and Ah Lee to me the next day. So I called Kah Motor I want to cancel the repair and they told me some parts have been taken down and even if I cancel now, I still have to pay $280 for troubleshooting and reinstallation fee even without changing anything. (But once again, they told me Saturday is not a working day yet they still taken down parts from my car?) On Monday, after paying Kah Motor $280 for doing nothing, I took my car to Doctor Gearbox. After some troubleshooting and within an hour by Ah Lee, the issue was found not due to the gearbox at all (thus overhauling is not required), but the Valve body and one faulty CVT speed sensor. Also with 4 brand new plug coils replaced, the total repair cost was under $700. Within 2 hours all issues resolved, amazing experience they have. It was a shame for Kah Motor to mis-identify the problem and I must give kudos to Ah Lee and Ah Hui being skillfully root caused the issue within such a short time!
