I was standing right next to the mechanic when he violently ripped out my car's washer pump just to access the headlight bulb. Immediately, washer fluid started leaking all over the floor.
When I pointed this out, the boss, Mr. Goh, refused to take any responsibility. His excuses were insulting:
He blamed my "Old parts," Even though the pump was working perfectly when I arrived.
He had the audacity to tell me it's "Normal" For them to damage one part while fixing another.
He gave a ridiculous example, saying that if they fix a dashboard, "Surely something will be damaged."
He insisted that I must pay for the new washer pump that his mechanic broke right in front of my eyes.
After a heated argument, Mr. Goh finally agreed to "Absorb" The cost, but with an incredibly bad attitude. He then tried to threaten me, saying he didn't charge a service fee for the bulb change and that he could have charged me thousands to replace the entire headlight if he wanted to.
This isn't about a simple mistake; This is a serious integrity issue. This workshop's policy is clearly to damage customer property and then bully the customer into paying for their incompetence.
They might seem nice if you just hand over your money without asking questions. But the moment something goes wrong, they will blame you, lie, and try to make you pay for their faults.
I am totally convinced I will never visit this workshop again, and I strongly urge everyone else to stay away. Avoid Riverview Auto Works at all costs.
