Sent in my car to the Alexandra branch for the 360 Shield and battery replacement. Inspected my car thoroughly before sending in, and documented all paint chips via photographs to send SA for assistance in touching-up. Collected the car two days later only to discover more paint chips on the bonnet. Checked back on original photos, chips were not there. Tried to retrieve dashcam footage, but was informed by VCS dashcam was disconnected when car was being worked on at VCS (company policy), and was not reconnected when it was brought out for test drive and therefore no footage was retrievable. When I questioned why it was not reconnected on the public roads as there was no trade secrets to be captured unlike in their workshop, and I questioned what happens if there was an accident during the test drive, I was informed that it is a good suggestion that will be disseminated to the workshop manager.

VCS then offered to give me a set of touch-up paint as goodwill, which I had accepted thinking it was the commercially-available set with the applicator brush built into the bottle cap. Much to my horror and disgust, they offered me a used tin can of black paint in horrible condition (see attached photo). Naturally, I rejected that as a settlement and confirmed with the customer service staff that there was no more room for negotiation and that was the best they could do. She confirmed that that was the best they could do, and that her manager would not budge. She also advised that a set of the commercially available touch-up paint costs around $20/-, and suggested for me to purchase it instead. Informed her that I am rejecting her proposed solution (the tin can), and if there was no more room for nego then I would initiate legal action. She told me to go ahead, and I have written to my counsel today.

This is really about the due diligence and care that VCS ought to have when vehicles are placed in their care for works to be done. In this case, I sent my car in expecting it to look better than before it was sent in. Turned out worse. I really cannot over-emphasise on my disappointment and frustration.

Second photo shows bonnet right before sending car in to VCS. Third photo shows after collecting the car two days later. Fourth photo is a close-up photo of the paint chips.

Anyone who chooses to deal with VCS, carefully read online reviews about their aftersales and customer service standards first. There are plenty of available info online to help you make an informed decision.

Anyone who has had similar experiences as mine and wishes to contact me about it, please pm me. Write to me, and if it is within my means to help you, I will.

Thanks for reading.

The title says it all. The staff at the MacPherson outlet doesn't take care of your brand new car.
Avoid this outlet, especially if your car is brand new, just few days old off the showroom. The staff do not have the expertise to properly diagnose the actual issue, and may cause even more problems to you and your car. It left me without my car for almost a month for my case, and only provided a lousy courtesy car.
What made it worst was, it the workshop even tried to deny all wrongdoings initially.
Always check your car before handing over the keys and after collection. Attached photos are some of the cosmetic damaged to the car in just 1 visit.
It has been almost 1.5mths till date, we have yet to receive any proper compensation from them. Very disappointing and bad experience from a reputable AD workshop.
