Check price  Posted on 25-Mar-2023
Went there to check aircon not cold, was told compressor spoil. Quoted 1.2k for oem replacement. I remember compressor replacement should not cost so much so I left. In short, replaced elsewhere with Sanden oem for 720. Check price before commit.

Replace AC compressor for Suzuki Swift  Posted on 08-Mar-2021

My experience with a spoilt AC compressor for my Suzuki Swift.

Car was blowing hot air and had a squealing noise when engine is on.
Saw that the AC compressor was not turning when I lift the hood and the belt was not turning properly too.

Sent car to Mark Cool for opinion - Yes, AC compressor is busted and AC compressor belt was close to breaking with cuts on the inside (could not see with naked eye unless the belt is taken off).

Ah Huat explained very well and specific about what needs to be replaced. Offered me a used AC compressor since my car is already close to expiry, exactly what I was looking for.

Thumbs up for Mark Cool! Great experience and value!

Visited this workshop after reading some good feedback here.
Below are my personal experience:
1. Conclude lost of gas, adv to topup.
2. Quote S$60 for the topup.
3. After topup, was told compressor also has problem, will need to be replaced.
4. Adv to monitor the topup gas, and told the coldness can't improve much.
5. Paid & Left.

Aircon not working, only blowing air.  Posted on 03-Nov-2018

Start the car as usual on Saturday morning and after driving a few minutes realise that the air is not cold anymore. I did not send into any workshop immediately but instead did my own diagnostic. I notice that the Compressor didn't kick in nor my condenser fan. Usually, I like to at least have basic stuff check by myself and at least I know what's going on.
Decided to do an online search for the best car Aircon specialist workshop. Like the others here I don't want to go to a normal all in one workshop because to me they're not specialist and maybe busy attending lots of repairs. Mark Cool workshop pops up in Google search under Sgcarmart. Do some review readings and off I went to Mark Cool near my Woodlands House too, how convenient.

So Workshop or Business owners, read this. Feedback and reviews are very important for your business in this Internet age.

I approached one of the mechanics and he proceeds to diagnosed my car aircon. True enough, whatever he diagnoses is almost the same as my previous diagnosed. The fan was not turning due to a faulty carbonised motor and the compressor didn't cut in due to faulty Relay. Change the parts and I'm a happy man driving Cool. Price to me is reason enough. Thank you very much to the mechanic and he was smiling happily.

Aircon Issue  Posted on 24-Apr-2018

I had a good experience with MarkCool and my aircon issue was solved. Ah Huat is very friendly and was great at identifying the issue. Now aircon is working great and blowing cold air finally.

Had some issue with my aircon where the compressor seem to switch on/off randomly and engine jerks when it switches on. After checking a no. Of components, narrowed down to the circuitry of the aircon panel. We have been there last time also to fix air con issues and MarkCool is definitely recommended.

Got my 2nd hand nine year old Honda Stream less then a month ago.
Air-con went dead suddenly. Air is blowing but not cold. Checked that the compressor clutch did not engage even with high RPM condition.
Checked forum and shortlist a few WS and went for Mark Cool.

An Huat, a very friendly guy, was attending to some work but still ask me what happen to my car. Stop his work and do a check on the alternator and check on the fuse box. Identified the relay for the AC compressor clutch and check for current. Replace a new relay and air-con blasted out cold and chill!!!! Show me the AC compressor clutch working as he on/off the air-con switch.
On top of solving the problem, he even advise to adjust the throttle near to 900rpm to ensure the activation of the AC compressor as currently mine is 'on/off' condition at 750rpm.
Less then 10 mins diagnosis, change new relay and advise = $25

Value for high quality work!!!
Keep up the good work Mark Cool!!!!

Chevy Cruze air con issue  Posted on 07-Aug-2017
  • Technical Expertise5.0

  • Value for money5.0

My 5 yr old Chevy Cruze suddenly got some issues with the aircon, initial symptom was that only driver side blew cold air, the other side nearly warm air. Since my car still under warranty so I brought to agent to check, but was told that aircon only 2 years warranty...The mechanic checked for me and told was aircon control box problem and the damage would be $300.

I didn't give him the green light to go, as I wanted to have another opinion on this, so I collected back my car (agent waived off the examination fee out of good will) and sent it to mark cool which is quite near to my home. I specifically looked for Ah Huat as recommended by bros in the forum. He checked my car inside out and didn't see any leakage in the pipeline. So he told me might be evaporate coil issue, and the repair would be troublesome and time consuming as they need to dismantle the whole dashboard.

And then Ah Huat told me that he had a suggestion which was to top up the gas and flush the aircon first without any major repair first. To monitor the aircon performance for a couple of days then decide what to do next. I accepted his suggestion so he topped up the gas for me and immediately he found there's leakage at the gas top-up valve position. The valve was tightened by him and he told me that should resolve the issue. Total damage $32 and it has been 3 weeks now the aircon still works fine. Hope there won't be any issue later on. Thumb up for Ah Huat!

A Great Experience At Mark Cool  Posted on 18-Jan-2017

Went to one tyre & Air con specialist who claim that my car aircon problem is definitely the compressor. I needed a second opinion and they do not have a replacement so i decided NOT to send in for repair.

Read about Mark-Cool online and decided to make the trip. It was well worth it. Even though the staff there were doing their thing and nobody actually welcome you, they were helpful when you speak to them to tell them about my air-con issues.

Spoke to this guy named Ah Leong and he got this solved in 10 mins! Replaced the relay and it's now very cold. Very satisfied with their knowledge, honestly and workmanship.

I will be back if i have any air con issues :) Thumbs up for Mark Cool ! I stay in the East but the trip there is definitely worthwhile.

Best value aircon service  Posted on 03-Jan-2017

I am driving a BMW and the aircon blowing hot air. Got a few quotations and finally went to Mark as they were experts in aircon.

Even when I went to PML, they did not give me the exact solution and advised me to change the coil. Mark Aircon identified the issue within 5 minutes as the condenser issue and even advised not to change the coil unless necessary.

Condenser need to be indented as they did not carry stock. I waited at the office and it was fixed within 2 hours from the time I arrived.

Fast service and at about half the cost of other quotes I received. Highly recommended!

Went to Mark Cool to get air con checked as it is not cold or taking longer time to cool the vehicle. One workshop quoted me $600 to change to a new compressor.

Went to Mark Cool and met Ah Huat. After taking out the parts to inspect, he concluded need to change air filter, clean up the parts, and top up air con gas. Don't need to change compressor! After Ah Huat fixed the issue, I left Mark Cool with an efficient Air con. Thumbs up!

Warm Aircon  Posted on 30-Jan-2016

Been having problems with aircon being warm in the past 4 months plus. Saw my usual mechanic who topped up gas, flushed compressor but in the end recommended to replace the compressor at my next 100k servicing as it was dying (waning power). Was quoted approximately $750 over the phone.

After seeing my car detailer he recommended I visit an automotive aircon specialist for a second opinion instead of a jack-of-all mechanic in case they're trying to pull a fast one. Not having any lobang I browsed the forums here and saw that Mark Cool had overall good ratings and feedback from past customers. So I decided to give them a whirl.

Pulled into the workshop just now and was greeted by an uncle who looked like a tau kei. But forgot to ask his name. Anyway he was quick to point out the problem after hooking up their test machine. I guess the dials immediately told him it was a compressor problem as my mechanic diagnosed.

Checked price for replacement with aunty inside and was quoted $680. The uncle then took out a brand new compressor in the box and still shrink wrapped. Confirmed a Denso compressor from Japan versus those manufactured upstairs. Said it'd take about an hour and to wait in their air conditioned office, which I did.

An hour later all done and I drove away cool as a cucumber with an extra $70 in the pocket. Fast, friendly, efficient and honest service in my experience. Go see these folks for all your automotive aircon needs!

Good Recommendations, keeps coming back for more. Handling of my cars improved tremendously! Car turns better, brakes better and G force greatly reduced.

Though have all my UR components installed nearly 6 months, still enjoying the great handling.

Service is good. Try to answer my other problem even though I did not service my car with them.

Air Con crazy  Posted on 26-Dec-2014

My Mitsubishi car air con went crazy. Sometimes hot sometimes cold. A friend recommended me to Mr Low Ah Huat from Mark Cool. I went there the first time, the air-con worked, no hot air. Ah Huat could not trace the fault and did not recommend any change of parts. Very honest. Two weeks later, air con went crazy again. This time around Ah Huat checked again and two possible reasons, 1) relay problem 2) compressor problem. Asked me to change a switch first instead of the whole compressor. 3 months later, my air con is still working well. Ah Huat is a professional and a man of honesty and integrity. I recommend those who need air con service to approach Mark Cool and seek out the execellent service of this professional air-con engineer, Mr. Low Ah Huat.
