2009 Lexus RX350 unveiled in Singapore!

Singapore's original SUV, whose hybrid variant (RX 400h) trumped the RX350 in sales, has received a complete revamp. Even with the recent introduction of cars such as the Volvo XC60, BMW X6 and soon, the Audi Q5, Lexus' sales team are confident that it will do well in the face of the current economic crisis and stiffer competition.
With a six-speed transmission, keyless entry, and a whole list of gadgetry to aid with its off-road ability as well as safety on tarmac, the new model promises to be a marked change despite taking a gamble on the older car's formula in certain areas.
One of the significant changes is the Active Torque Control system, which is basically an all-wheel drive system that constantly changes the torque split via an electronically controlled differential. Unlike the older model that split torque evenly between front and rear, the new RX is able to go from a 100:0 ratio to 50:50 front to rear.
Brand new on both the inside and outside, the new RX includes the IS-series' angular headlamps and huge front bumper. Higher quality materials in the cabin like organic LED readouts, cleaner lines, softer materials and overall, a huge departure from the previous model.
Prices start from $165,000 for the standard equipped variant without a moon roof, and will head upwards to about $169,000 for the fully optioned one, COE inclusive.
