AC Cars has released the first details and images of the AC Cobra GT roadster, which will be formally unveiled in early 2023.
The new AC Cobra GT roadster is the result of three years of investment and development. AC Cars is scheduled to unveil the car in London in 2023, as the marque prepares to celebrate its 122nd year.
The new AC Cobra GT will feature an extruded aluminium space frame chassis, developed specifically for the new AC Cobra GT roadster by Icona Design Group and Cecomp Spa in Italy.
The new body will be coupled to a V8 engine developing up to 654bhp and 780Nm of torque, with the choice between a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic gearbox in a car weighing under 1,500kg.
The zero to 100km/h sprint is expected to be dispatched in just 3.6 seconds.
With a wheelbase of 2,570mm, the new AC Cobra GT roadster will be the largest AC Cobra yet. But thanks to high levels of torsional rigidity, AC claims that the car will be a refined experience despite its excellent performance and handling capabilities.
To help with everyday usability and comfort, features included in the AC Cobra GT roadster include air conditioning, electric windows, in-car entertainment and the option of a removable hardtop.
AC Cars will also provide a range of options inspired by the brand's heritage, as well as a bespoke service to create unique vehicles to cater to individual customers' needs.
