BMW showcases the exciting new BMW M2 to the media at a preview event

When the latest iteration of BMW's 2 Series compact coupe was introduced, the top-of-the line model was the M240i. But everyone knew that an even more exciting model was well on its way - the M2. When the all new M2 finally reached our shores, the media were invited to a preview of it in the Eurokars showroom located at 29 Leng Kee Road.
Equipped with the same engine that you'll find in the current BMW M3 and M4, along with chassis technology derived from them, the compact M2 coupe is an ultimate driver's car with plenty of power and excellent agility to match.
The all new M2 has a unique set of frameless kidney grilles with horizontal bars Now in its second generation, the M2 has an athletic appearance with extremely powerful proportions.
Up front, the large frameless BMW kidney grille with horizontal bars are unique to the M2 and reminiscent of the recently introduced BMW XM.
A three-section lower intake with almost rectangular contours gives the car an aggressive and distinct M look.
Compared to the standard 2 Series Coupe, the M2 has a much wider track width. In fact, both its front and rear track widths are identical to the M4, despite having a much shorter wheelbase.
At the rear, you'll find similarly boxy and aggressive design elements as the front end Not only does the widened track translate into improved handling, it also resulted in the dramatically flared arches, which works together with the M2's sharp and aggressive design elements to create an imposing look.
At the rear, once again you'll find sharp, blocky elements on the bumper that matches the front intake section. Completing the rear end are two pairs of exhaust tips that evokes a recognisable M style.
Under the bonnet, you'll find the same 3.0-litre straight-six engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology that is in the M3 and M4.

The Active M Differential at the rear axle is included as standard, and it allows traction to be optimised and improves power transfer when accelerating hard out of corners by generating a locking effect of up to 100% when required.
