Kia Sportage Hybrid revealed in the U.S.A

Kia has unveiled the new Sportage Hybrid for the U.S.A at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Kia Sportage Hybrid gets all the new design features of the petrol-powered Sportage, including the new, 'Tiger Nose' grille as well as the boomerang-shaped head lights, but will receive unique rim designs, available as 17 and 18-inch items.

Powering the Kia Sportage Hybrid is a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine combined with a 59bhp electric motor to achieve a targeted fuel economy of 16.5km/L. Total system output for the drivetrain stands at 223bhp channeled to either the front wheels or an active all-wheel-drive system.

In the cabin, the Kia Sportage Hybrid gets two 12.3-inch displays, seamlessly paired to offer nearly 25-inches of viewing real estate. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is available on all trims, while a new touchpad with climate and audio controls sits beneath the infotainment screen.

The hybrid also retains the innovative coat hanger molded behind front headrests with integrated hook for shopping bags or for organising charging cables.
