The all new Audi A1 Sportback has arrived

Audi has finally pulled the covers off the all new A1 Sportback. Launched at the Rink@JCube, over 200 guests attended the event, proving just how highly anticipated and relevant this car really is to Singapore. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the car isn't just nimble and agile, it's also fully connected and up to date, making the Audi A1 Sportback ideally suited for Singapore and the digital future.

"The Audi A1 Sportback is the concentrated version of all the Audi values. Dynamically designed, fun to drive and connected, it's ideal for Singapore. Arriving at this time of the year, this epic model also sets us up for a successful 2020," said Mr. Markus Schuster, Managing Director of Audi Singapore.

Equipped with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder powerplant that's mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, 114bhp and 200Nm of torque are sent to the front wheels of the A1 Sportback, allowing it to complete the century sprint in 9.4 seconds.

In terms of design, not only does the wide track and short overhangs provide for a taut, sporty look, it has also grown significantly in length. The wide, low-placed Singleframe grille and the implied side air inlets dominate the distinctive front.

The new A1 Sportback also sports a wide, flat sloping C-pillar that seems to push the car forward even while standing still. The roof contrast line, which is available in two dark colors, ends above the C-pillar.

This gives the impression that the roof is flatter and the complete car is even lower-slung. All lines on the flanks, from the window edge to the sill, slope upward toward the rear in a wedge shape.

More impressively, the Audi's new compact hatchback comes with Audi virtual cockpit with an extended range of functions as standard for our market.

The Infotainment concept in the new A1 Sportback comes from the full-size class. The MMI radio comes as standard - it can be operated via the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel and the display in the fully digital instrument cluster.

As with a smartphone, all commands are via touch input. The latest generation of voice control further improves the dialog between driver and car.

The Audi smartphone interface ensures you are always well connected on board the new car. It integrates iOS and Android smartphones using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into an environment in the MMI programmed specifically for them, and offers two USB interfaces.

The brand new Audi A1 Sportback 1.0 TFSI Stronic Advanced has a recommended retail price of $131,055. However, for the launch period, limited units are available at $114,999. Prices include COE and VES.
