Tour bus runs over man twice in Geylang

A tour bus ran over and killed a pedestrian in a horrific 'double' accident yesterday.
Cleaner Amirudin Salim, 29, recounted how he shouted and waved to alert the driver when he unknowingly mowed down the victim at the intersection of Geylang Lorong 14 and Talma Road.
After stopping the vehicle, the driver unwittingly reversed the bus and ran over the man, who is believed to be a Malaysian in his 30s.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police said they received a call about the incident at 8:17am. The Straits Times understood that police later retrieved video footage from a nearby condo closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) that had recorded the accident.
The driver was subsequently arrested and investigations are ongoing.
