The coupe measures 4,160mm long, 1,760mm wide and 1,260mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,570mm. This means that the FT-86 is easily a four-seater coupe. The concept was designed at Toyota's European Design Development ED2 studio in Nice, France, and was inspired by Toyota’s FT-HS hybrid concept that was shown at the Detroit Motor Show in 2007.
While full details about the FT-86 coupe are yet to be released, the car is expected to be powered by Subaru's 2.0-liter naturally aspirated Boxer petrol engine, with power output expected to be between 160 to 200bhp. The FT-86 is a full-fledged performance coupe, with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel-drive.
