Toyota has announced that it plans to release its new Harrier around June of 2020.
The new Harrier has a front view that emphasises its sharp and fearless styling through the continuity of lines, which flow from the front upper grill through to the headlamps. The signature lamps are said to enable the new car to be easily distinguished from a distance.
At the rear, the taillights now form a thin, sharp line to give the car a greater sense of presence.
A total of seven muted colours are available, including Precious Black Pearl, to show off the beautifully changing shades of the car.
On the cabin, the centre console, instrument panel and door trims on either side have been designed to give occupants a sense of security and comfort.
Tactile synthetic leather has been employed to create the image of a natural-looking silhouette while bentwood-inspired wood tones and piping feature throughout for a casual air of quality.
The centre console, instrument panel and door trims have been designed to give occupants a sense of security and comfort The new car also sports a panoramic roof which is equipped with electric shades and electro-chromatic windows, allowing the windows to be dimmed to only allow soft light to penetrate the cabin.
The new Harrier sits atop a Toyota New Global Architecture (GA-K) platform, delivering a highly rigid body with a low centre of gravity for both increased both ride comfort and vehicle driving performance.
The MacPherson struts at the front are coupled with a double wishbone setup at the rear, both of which get optimised suspension geometry.
The new Harrier comes with Toyota Safety Sense, which employs a pre-collision safety system that detects pedestrians during the day and at night, as well as cyclists during the day. Intelligent Clearance Sonar with Parking Support Brakes (Stationary Objects) helps to reduce or mitigate damage from collisions during low-speed driving.
International engine options include an in-line four-cylinder 2.5-litre direct-injected engine paired with a hybrid system for a total system combined power output of 215bhp.
E-four-wheel drive versions of the Harrier will get the same hybrid drivetrain coupled with an additional 53bhp electric motor mounted at the rear for a total system combined power output of 219bhp. Both hybrid models will utilise an electronic continuously variable transmission.
Non-hybrid options include an in-line four-cylinder 2.0-litre direct-injected engine delivering 169bhp and 207Nm of torque which is paired to a Direct Shift-continuously variable transmission.
