Volkswagen has just unveiled the ID.2all concept, the first glimpse of an all-electric Volkswagen that will cost less than $35,882.50 (EUR 25,000). The ID2.all concept showcases the future direction of the brand and what to expect from it.
Apart from the affordable starting price of the eventual production version of the ID.2all, which is in line with the brand's plans to bring electric mobility to the masses, the ID2.all concept also showcases the new MEB Entry platform along with Volkswagen's new design language and premium innovations.
The ID.2all concept has an all new interpretation of the familiar C-pillar design that was found on the first Golf The ID.2all will be the first MEB vehicle with front-wheel drive. Built upon the enhanced MEB Entry platform, the ID.2all is equipped with particularly efficient drive, battery and charging technology.
This includes a powerful electric drive motor that puts out 166kW and will have a calculated WLTP range of up to 450km.
In the design department, the ID.2all is the first Volkswagen with an all new interpretation of the C-pillar design that was developed for the first Golf. The rest of the car is designed with a clear and powerful stance, a friendly face along with dynamism and elegance.
The interior of the ID.2all sports a clean design with a high-quality appearance and designed for an intuitive user experience. And despite its rather compact size, the ID2.all sports a generous cargo volume of 490 to 1,330 litres.
The production version of the ID2.all is one of the 10 upcoming BEV models that Volkswagen will launch by 2026. The new ID.3, the ID.Buzz with long wheelbase and the ID.7 will be launched in the later part of this year as well. After which, you'll see the introduction of a compact electric SUV from Volkswagen in 2026.
