Incredible expertise, honest recommendations, and top-tier workmanship - I was recommended this shop by my paint resprayer, and I am so glad I took their advice. I initially came in to replace a damaged amplifier on my IS250 (2IS). Right off the bat, the team offered tailored options without any pushy sales tactics, giving me two different grades of Zapco amps to choose from based on my needs and budget. What really stood out was the attention to practical detail: 1) Thoughtful Installation: The technician custom-built a platform so the new amp sits higher than the factory trunk vent, drastically reducing the risk of future water damage (common weakness for the 2IS). He was completely transparent, warning me beforehand that raising the amp meant the trunk floor panel might not sit 100% flush. 2) Thorough Diagnosis: While working on the system, he diagnosed that our Focal mid-bass speakers had gone bad. Instead of just telling me, he showed me hard proof—the cone had hardened and the hardware was rusted. He clearly broke down the pros and cons of just swapping the amp versus replacing the speakers as well. 3) No-Pressure Auditioning: Another staff member set up a demo of various speaker brands and pointed out the best value-for-money options. 4) Masterful DSP Tuning: The technician took the time to explain the logic behind DSP tuning and actually had us sit inside the car to listen to the staging, mids, and bass as he calibrated it. The difference was night and day. Unexpected Bonus: Fixing the amplifier and rewiring the questionable job done by a previous shop (the right side tweeter works even without an amp) surprisingly made my Android head unit much more responsive! It has been plagued by micro-lags that maybe caused by voltage drops and ground loop interference from the old faulty wiring, which was putting unnecessary electrical load on the head unit. Overall, the pricing was very reasonable for the level of expertise, transparency, and craft provided. Highly recommend Ah Huat and team to anyone looking for solid, reliable car audio work!
