Lexus has revealed its second battery-electric vehicle, the RZ450e.
The all-electric SUV sits atop the same e-TNGA platform as seen in the Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X. But in the Lexus, total power output has been bumped to a total of 308bhp, a sizable increase from the 200-odd bhp output of its siblings.
The Lexus RZ450e will come with the same 71.4kWh as the Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X, but will offer a total of 308bhp The Lexus RZ450e will put this power on the road via all four wheels, with the electric motor at the front axle rated at 201bhp and the one at the rear rated at 107bhp.
Battery capacity for the Lexus RZ450e meanwhile, remains identical to the Subaru and Toyota, standing at 71.4kWh. Lexus states this battery will offer close to 410km of range.
The firm additionally states that optimal placement of the RZ450e's electric motors and battery for weight distribution, alongside the use of a clever Direct4 all-wheel drive system that can deliver high-precision motor torque control will take that 'Lexus Driving Signature' to a new, higher level.
A MacPherson strut type suspension at the front, coupled with a trailing arm double wishbone configuration at the rear will both get Frequency Reactive Dampers in order to further maintain high handling stability without compromising ride comfort in the Lexus RZ450e.
The car will also come with a butterfly-shaped yoke and a Steer by Wire system in the U.S.A at a later date More important to note of the Lexus RZ450e is that it is the firm's first road vehicle to be unveiled under the new 'Lexus Electrified' vision, so you can expect the design of this SUV to be a strong clue into the designs of Lexus' future all-electric vehicles.

A central 14-inch infotainment display will sit above the centre console of the RZ450e Top highlight here is the new steering wheel design.
