The marque has announced that it has inked a new exclusive partnership for th upcoming animated family movie titled Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie. Set to be played in more than 100 markets around the world, the 'Miraculous' animated magical girl superhero television series is described as a global phenomenon, having racked up a total of 33 billion views on YouTube and number one TV-rankings in many countries.
The new movie will play in theaters around the globe starting as from 5 July 2023, and on streaming platform Netflix from 28 July 2023. The film, Volkswagen states, will feature its ID. family of electric vehicles in a meaningful way into the storyline.
The cars are already being redesigned to fit the overall look and feel of the movie, in collaboration with the film's animators. The character Cat Noir will be paired with the Volkswagen ID.4, while Ladybug - a modern character who stands for female empowerment - will be paired with an electric Beetle concept. The ID. Vizzion will also make an appearance, associated with in-movie Stylist Gabriel Agreste, while the ID. Buzz will be utilised as Tom's bakery delivery vehicle.
