Not one of the best, but definitely the best rental service in town. They responded to all my emergency seamlessly, ie tyre puncture, car unable to start..definitely will continue to rent car from them. - foong weisheng

Had my car service by Clement Chia for the damages i had due to a bump at the front part of the car. Clement has been attentive and guiding me through the entire processes and making sure repair works was done professionally and within cost which should be spent only. The follow up by him was regular and keeping you inform on the process and showing images of each repair works, the ease of having your car to be serviced or repaired as handled by Clement is fantastic. - Steven Chee

I lease a car with them for a period of 5 years. My lease is suppose to be up 2nd May but I was told to renew the road tax and insurance for 1 year as it is due on the 27th April. I do not see the sense to pay for a year road tax and insurance just for 5 days and so I choose to return the car on 26 April (Hertz do not pro-rate if I return early which is fine). After that, I ask for the return of my deposit but was told there is a massive repair cost including 2 headlamp and rear brake lights which was not really spotted when my son return the car. After much investigation and email exchange, they release one of the headlamp do not need replacement which save me SG$2,620. If I never check, I would had paid this extra amount for nothing. I ask for an invoice and prove of repair, only the invoice came but no prove of repair came. I ask for my refund status, reply is slow and the last reply I got was on 6th June saying they will check with finance. Until now, 10 June, not reply. Updates: The road tax and insurance expired a few days before my lease end. I was given a choice to return the car early as it do not make sense to pay for a year insurance and road tax but in the end they charge me rental until my expired date deducting from my deposit without informing me. Sent an email to them on 5th July and today 18 Jul still no reply. - Anyhow Run Man

The 2 male service staff members (again, forgot to ask for their names) at the counter in Alexandra also provided friendly and professional services when I was returning the car. 1st time in Singapore and rented a bmw x1 at the Changi airport. 1. Hard to find car return location. 2. I had to pay parking since wrong lot. No prob paid for the parking. 3. Bmw keys were missing. I apologize and said please work something out I'll pay. They changed me $3,000 + $210 to replace a bmw x1 key. I know if key missing it's my fault but common I know it's not $3000 to replace a key. Also I called the bmw dealership and gave me a quote between $500 - $800. 4. The guy had originally told me he had to tow the car but then he figured I knew they had a spare. They totally ripped me off and I'm still paying off my credit card. Total SCAM - Warren Dillon

Horrendous to say the least. Our rental car was OLD. 136000 miles on it. Even worse, the car was so badly maintained that the tires were practically bare. Halfway through our two week rental, one of the tires, which was already peeling, went flat and they had to send someone to change the tires. That lost half a day of rental. Then the staff refused to even issue a half day refund for our loss of use and inconvenience. Note that the Hertz brand in Singapore is managed by Sime Darby, which tells you a lot about how much Hertz values the service in this country. - Shyue Ping Ong

I have rented their cars couple of times. Ask for Ms PY, she is the best! She is amazing and makes the process really smooth. She goes above and beyond for her customers and tries to help as much as possible. Great service and she know her stuff. Very responsive to answer my enquiry. I had a wonderful experience using the car. The process was stress free and pleasant. She was able to find me a car that suited my needs. Even though I wanted to rent at the very close period of time , she managed to get a car available for us. I will continue to rent cars from them. - Isaac Hans

Hired a car for 2 days while mine was being serviced. In the end I only needed it for 1 day. I had also taken out extra daily insurance. On returning it a full day early with a full tank of fuel (was a quarter full when I got it) I received zero refund - not the extra day's hire or the extra insurance. From a customer experience point of view, not great for repeat business. Won't use them again. After receiving a response saying someone would be in touch: [2nd April] No one has been in touch yet. [6th April] Still no contact. [12th April] Still no contact regarding refund. I guess this was just a standard response? - Ian McDonald

Came across this promo from Facebook and rented a car for 2 days. When I was at Alexandra to pick up the car, I was informed by the counter staff that the car I booked was not available. However, he mentioned that the company will be giving me a free upgrade. Car looks generally quite new and it was cleaned inside and outside. Had many questions for the staff and he answered patiently with a smile still on his face. Decided to share a review because I am very happy with the everything. It is my first booking with Hertz and will not be my last. Thank you Hertz! - Calvin Lim
