Cars@Expo swings into action for 2023 with more than 30 exhibitors pulling out their best deals - and some new cars

Cars@Expo is back in action for 2023 - and true to form, it's bringing along the best that Singapore's market has to offer to all sorts of customers. Held across Expo Halls 4 and 3B, admission is free throughout the event, with the doors open from 10:00am to 8:00pm through 15 and 16 April 2023.

Those on the hunt for a new car will delight in the fact that there are 17 car brands present here, all of whom have reached deep within their pockets to pull out deals and freebies that are sure to be enticing to potential buyers.

Look out, for instance, for reduced downpayment offers. At Kah Motor's Honda booth, which is showing off the Freed, all new Jazz Crosstar, and a Civic with an aerokit fitted (it's a complimentary add on for buyers at the show), downpayments start from as low as $7,300.

The exciting news continues at the Mazda booth, where downpayments start from as low as $12,988 with the Mazda 2 Hatchback. With a purchase of the quirky, all-electric MX-30 crossover, Eurokars is even bundling 10 years of free home charging.

Meanwhile, downpayments start from as low as $0 with Toyota, which is showcasing a delectable lineup of hybrid cars including the latest-gen Sienta and Harrier (subject to terms and conditions, naturally). For 2023, the chirpy Yaris Cross is even receiving a fresh dose of colour - literally - with an Urban Palette Collection bringing eight new wrap colours, including an eye-catching Cherry Blossom. 

Speaking of refreshed cars, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a number of cars/variants that have yet to be introduced, or are still relatively new to the Singapore market.

Sgcarmart's Crossover of the Year, the MG HS, now comes in an even smarter-looking Black Edition, which is retailing for a special price of less than $59,888 here (without COE). The fully bespoke MG 4 EV is also displayed for the first time in Singapore in its signature Volcanic Orange paintwork.

Elsewhere, Jeep's recently launched Grand Cherokee takes centrestage at Capella Auto's booth, alongside the Wrangler (read our review of the Wrangler Sahara here) - both of which are being offered with a 4x4 package that includes four years of free servicing, petrol vouchers, and COE subsidies.

Those who have been paying attention, however, will know that Capella Auto has a new resident under its wing: Cars@Expo marks the first official preview of the facelifted Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Also being previewed for the first time is the third-generation Suzuki S-Cross, which should be launched by Q2 2023. While it isn't for sale yet, you'll get to see (and purchase) other icons from the firm - such as the Swift Sport and Jimny - at discounted prices, and with useful freebies thrown in.

Yet another car being previewed here is the Lexus RZ. While the all electric SUV has yet to be launched, what you can buy here is the self-charging Lexus RX hybrid. With cars sold at the Lexus booth, look forward to petrol cards, attractive loan interest rates, complimentary after sales care - and even a free Osim chair.

Other notable cars that are making a splash here include a trio of very different well-loved models that have been newly-minted in COE Category A.

Volkswagen is showcasing its 129bhp-variant of the evergreen Golf, which comes with a 1.5-litre mild hybrid assisted engine. Those that secure a car on-site at the VW booth stand to win attractive prizes including cash vouchers worth $688, aftersales credits worth $388, petrol gift cards worth $500 and lifestyle merchandise worth $288.

The Skoda booth, right beside, is also showcasing the 1.0-litre Octavia. Event-exclusive discounts of up to $17,000 are up for grabs, as are cash vouchers worth $1,888, a five-year warranty, complimentary three-year servicing and a complimentary paint protection package.

On the other hand, the 100kW variant of the fantastic Atto 3 is present at the BYD booth, which is providing a special event discount of $3,000, on top of special add-on for purchases under its Excite package (in which a customer pays for guaranteed COE).

Other cars we were excited to see here include the facelifted BMW 3 Series, Peugeot's all new 408 fastback, and Hyundai's made-in-Singapore Ioniq 5, which is proudly accompanied by its two flagship seven-seaters: The facelifted Palisade, and the futuristic Staria.

Of course, Cars@Expo would be incomplete if it didn't take those interested in pre-owned cars into account.

Whether you're on the hunt for a no-frills, economical wagon like the Honda Shuttle, premium SUVs like the BMW X3, or an exotic daily driver like the Porsche 718 Cayman, a diverse range of gleaming models from four dealers sit pretty in the other half of the halls for selection.

From attractive financing and car-selling solutions at Sgcarmart, to tyres and car grooming products - even foldable bikes and prams! - the final group of nine accessories and aftermarket merchants help to round off the car ownership experience. This is the very definition of 'one-stop'.

Finally, if you're still skeptical about driving an EV, a dedicated 'School of EV' here even promises to try to change your mind.
