I like that the fact that the Nissan Serena is a very roomy and spacious car. There are also many clever features such as the sliding doors. The Nissan Serena also has a excellent feel economy for a seven seater MPV.Inside the interior, there are many places to put your things.

I like this car. Have drive for 1 year plus. It has almost everything I need. Fuel economy is good. Power is enough for daily use. Two-part rear door is a very helpful design.
The head unit is a bit small and ancient. Doesn't have a rain sensor. However, these are just minor stuff and I don't really mind.

The interior is spacious and seats are comfortable, definitely is meeting my demand and expectation for a big family (5 adults, 2 kids).

I have breakdown the pros and cons as shown below based on comfort, performance, handling, interior, exterior and after sale service.

What I like
Comfort:
1. The seats are thick and comfy, unlike most of the MPVs in its price range with comparably thinner seat, which will cause butt pain in longer ride.
2. The leg room is big enough for a person like me 183cm, even in the last row without compromising the legroom of second row.
3. I personally like the armrest.

Performance:
1. It is very responsive as it is an EV with higher torque.
2. Still can go up to 90-100km/h easily when fully loaded.
3. Have 3 different modes: Normal, ECO and Smart (ECO and Smart are one-pedal drive, brake is still active)

Handling:
1. Road gripping is good even in uneven/bumpy road.

Interior:
1. My seats are Beige color, it creates a better contrast visually and it blends well with the dashboard.
2. The steering wheel looks sporty.

Exterior:
1. My car is pearl white + black roof top.
2. It looks more luxury and sporty than other MPVs and less bulky

After Sale Service:
1. I purchased my car from Tan Chong, and I have to say the after sale service is very good, highly recommended.
2. 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000km free maintenance, will even provide washing and vacuuming service.

What I do not like
Comfort:
1. The backseat aircond noise can be disturbing for longer ride.

Performance:
1. Fuel efficiency is not the best, unless drive under ECO mode, but will have to compromise its performance as it will limit the current output for saving battery.

Handling:
1. Can feel the car is throwing outward when driving thru bend, but what to expect with such a big car?

Interior:
1. A lot of plastic, that's the only thing I can think of.

Exterior:
1. I like it so no comment.

After Sale Service:
1. The queueing time can be long when sending your car to Tan Chong for service.
2. Service price is higher compared to other workshops.

Love this huge MPV after testing it. Very quiet ride due to full electric drive technology and best of all, it does not require any external charging due to the 1.2L engine that charge whenever needed. Never fond of Nissan cars, but E-Power really changed my perspective in the brand.

Compared similar types of MPV like Toyota Noah, Voxy and Honda Spada as well, Nissan Serena wins due to driving experiences and it is from AD.

What I like:
1. Powerful instant torque, with just light tab on the accelerator pedal, the car pick up effortlessly, beyond my expectation for such huge and heavy vehicle.

2. Very smooth and quiet ride without affecting the performance, no power lost at all because of full electric drive from battery to the wheels only.

3. Great headroom and very spacious cabin that fit all 7 people comfortably and in style.

4. Nice car design with acceptable features like (360 camera, sliding door kick sensors & etc)

5. Front & rear aircon are strong and cold

6. One pedal drive technology (same as full electric car tech) E-Power really up the game very well as compared to other car makers

7. Rear dual door opening type (really impressive)

8. AD (Purchase with Peace of Mind with AD)

What I dislike:
1. Charging noise, but not really something to be concern about, almost the same as other hybrid cars charging sound like Toyota, Honda & etc.

2. Lousy speakers and small Headunit (Need to change sound system for sure)

3. Car height of 1.865m (cannot enter carpark from 1.85m and below)

I fell in love with this car the moment I saw it. Most MPV would kill your pocket but not the Serene E Power Hybrid. A full tank can travel up to 1000km, road tax is 1/3 of a petrol engine, price is amazing for an MPV this spacious and comfortable.

It will be unfair to compare it to luxury cars in terms of handling, interior or tech. If you have to compare, compare it with MPVs of the same price range and you will see why this car is the best in it's class.

What I like
Big and spacious
Cheap to own
Fuel efficient
Powerful torque
Sliding doors

What I do not like
Screen for reverse camera too small
No footrest on captain's seats
Engine can be loud occasionally when driving slow

Was looking around for a 7 seater and also comparing a couple of models before deciding on serena.
Spacious with lots of headroom.
Whole family can sit comfortably inside without squeezing and thinking how to store baby stroller and other things.
Went to lengkee Nissan and was assisted by Jolene.
Jolene was very helpful and always go the extra miles to answer my query.
Thumbs up to her.

What I like
Exterior design
Lots of headroom
Decent amount of torque
Nice and friendly sales lady who helped to facilitate the whole sale process.

What I do not like
Original Headunit looks cheapo
SG varient compare to Japan version seems to have a couple of features missing.

I owned the car for about 10 days. I must say there's some features that needs to be more actively promoted. I have travelled more than closed to 1000km with one tank of petrol with S mode. This really impress me. For a MPV, this is a serious savings. The S mode which drives like a buggy is interesting, takes a bit of practise to get use to it but helps a lot in saving fuel. In fact, this mode give you full control of speed. The petrol engine sound is rather noisy when it's working. However, I'm used to V engine big cars which has noisy engine.

The drive is responsive and with the electric engine, it's very quiet. On two occasions in car park, pedestrians didn't notice my car. The pickup in speed is fast given the torque. The only thing I find annoying is the reverse alert which is quite loud.

The exterior design is quite nice. I only wish that the car was wider. The dual boot door is nice feature. The front can be warm in bright sun as there is lots of glass.

The interior head room is good. I don't find a central switch for the lights. The seats for the first and second row are comfortable and suitable for long distance drive. The last row seats are a bit flimsy. The storage compartment at the boot is nice. The glove compartments are too small for a MPV.

What I like
Fuel efficiency
Responsive engine
Nice driver seat
Lots of small compartment
Space in car

What I do not like
Reverse alert sound too loud
Car is width is narrow
Seats are also narrow

I must say it's really overwhelming in terms of size of car coming from hatchback to this mega-MPV. Have been driving 'near the road' for the past 10yrs till this week I'm able to 'look down' at other compact MPVs while driving! Currently the biggest car in my carpark, even when parked beside Odyssey or Estima also felt bigger. Even b4 car run-in to 1st 1k mileage already doing almost 19km/l so pretty much up to my expectation since previous hybrid car can easily do 20km/l effortlessly

What I like
1. HUGE interior space! No more complains from wife that not enough space when transporting whole family around
2. Head-turner exterior design indeed; always attract stares after vehicle parked
3. 1-pedal driving rocks! Super easy to drive now as though driving buggy around town without touching brake pedal other than doing reverse parking
4. Coming from hatchback car, this MPV easier to drive than expected. Taller driving position so can see what's up front
5. Pick up speed quite fast even with light foot; Can also drive like an idiot with the additional electric torque!
6. Agent sponsored me customized car shades & door visors so save some $
7. Faster car delivery than expected; saved a bit more with $10k VES rebate since I'm 2nd batch of Serena(s)
8. Small correction on previous review; there's BRAKE LIGHT even when using e-Pedal just that it doesn't come on every time, mainly on by itself during hard braking eg: when u let go of accelerator nearing traffic lights so driver at the back knows you're braking so no safety problem
9. Front & back sensors for additional assurance when going into tight car parks, since most car parks are not friendly to MPVs. Sensors also came on even while car is stationary at traffic lights when motorbikes tried squeezing thru

What I do not like
1. Have to be wary of the older MSCP's height limit of 1.8m; so have to look for nearby loading bay to drop off kids now
2. Wider U-turn radius so have to 'eat' out more from lane to complete U-turn without 3 point turn
3. Mini-screen to look at when engage reverse cam; rather depend on my own skill then use the 360 cam as safety backup
4. Apple Carplay not as steady compared to Bluetooth connection. Tried on both of my iPhones, google maps still quite laggy music sometimes hang there
5. NO additional USBs at the rear seats compared to similar models from our neighboring countries! They have at least 6 USBs Spore version only 2! Super letdown
5. NO personal trays for 3rd row passengers, other countries have. Disappointed.
6. Massive rear door to open so most MSCP cannot accommodate after vertical parking unless head-in but backside sticking out.
7. Cruise control buttons not very well-designed; buttons on steering wheel to set but to disengage have to press cancel button which proves to be slightly tough since both buttons quite close each other. Prefer to Joystick design
8. Cold-door car but Msia got lots of Serena! So more assuring in case of any issues
9. Not as quiet drive compared to full-electric car; 1.2 ICE motor comes on most of the time when driving, only shuts off when nearing carpark in low speeds, not loud but sound is there so unless you drive music-less else it's fine
10. NO DRL, so i'll just on the LED fog lamps during day drive

Just trying to be picky from above 'complains', else this is a fantastic MPV to consider! Go test drive :)

After 1st test drive of the NISSAN Serena E-power I love the feel and knew this is the car for me. This heavy weight MPV work like a electric veh but there is no hassle of having park there for hrs to charge. The FC of the car is also quite reasonable at 13km/l on 90% city driving.

Invited for the soft launch event at Nissan Showroom for the new Serena ePower which is better than the Nissan Leaf Electric car. Overall handling and driving experience with the new Serena give you a fresh and new feelings compared to the Nissan Leaf. Don't need to worry of the battery level at all and driving is very smooth. Overall it's a great family MPV, even to drive the vehicle up North to Penang or Thailand.

Only don't like the driver seat which give me a feelings that it's not supportive or am i too fat for the seat which is design based on Japanese man size.

What I like
Long driving distance unliked normal Electric car which we need to worry where to charge the car and waste of time on charging at the charging station. Can drive up to Penang without worries.

What I do not like
Driver seat size seem a bit too small compared to most car designed by European designer which are more supportive and bigger.

Test driven this car, it is quite noisy when you rev the engine for pickup actually. The one paddle drive is a new driving experience but not safe to use on the road because there is no brake light, so can be dangerous to car behind you.
My preferences for MPV changed after test driven this car.

What I like
7 seater walk through center row
Electric sliding doors

What I do not like
No electric and memory seats
No electric tailgate
Everything is plastic and kind of flimsy
Loud engine noise
Overpriced
Higher road tax for hybrid car instead of cheaper for being green

Very simple review coming up.
Most MPVs in SG are underpowered, maybe with the exception of Estima, Alphard 3.5l and Sharan. So if power to move a full load of 7 is important to you, Serena e-power delivers. The car is quiet too, as with all EVs.
What is lacks are bells and whistles like e-parking brake, blind spot monitor, anti collision, electric seats and navigation. Tan Chong probably did not bring in a higher specs model as they would certainly have to sell the car at more than 150k. Personally I am glad the cheapest model was brought in, as I won't want to pay more for unnecessary features.

What I like
It has everything I need.
Good fuel economy of 13km per liter for 90% driving in start-stop traffic

What I do not like
Road tax is high at $1300 yearly.
Is that how government promote fuel efficient cars
