The Straits Times, through the Police, reported that the driver who caused the deaths of two siblings on Monday's accident at Tampines has since been released on bail. The driving licence of the 56-year old Singaporean driver has been suspended and is currently assisting Police with their investigations.
The cement truck belongs to G&W Ready-Mix while the driver is from a transport company called Hi-Dynamic. The Straits Times also reported the cement mixer driver has 20 years of driving experience and joined Hi-Dynamic only seven months ago.
Mr Philip Lu, a Senior General Manager of G&W Ready-Mix, has also been suspended and is now assisting with Police investigations. He added that the driver is resting at home but feels 'very traumatised' from the incident.
Well-wishers have altered the accident site to accommodate a makeshift shrine for the two boys where a large number of flowers, soft toys, food offerings, joss sticks and messages have been placed near a Police sign appealing for witnesses.
