Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Shiro Nakamura of Nissan, has vowed to pull the silk off a 'dramatic' concept car, in an official announcement by the Japanese automaker. The said concept model is believed to have been created under the direction of Nakamura.
Given the 'dramatic' label slapped onto the concept model, it will be little to no surprise that this concept model will eventually translate into a production version. Furthermore, Nakamura added that this is the first ever model created and built in Brazil, with the cooperation of Brazilian designers no less. "I'm so excited because I will be in Sao Paulo to reveal the concept car," said Nakamura in a statement. "It is the birth of something special for Nissan and it will be a hugely significant milestone in our plans for Brazil," said Nakamura.
Nissan does have a plan for the country and this includes a US$2.6 billion (approx S$3.2 billion) fund to build a new plant capable of producing 200,000 cars per annum as well as the possible launch of eight new models. Dramatic or not, it remains to be seen but for a statement of this magnitude, the new unknown and unnamed concept model cannot be too far off from unique to say the very least. It may be the time of year for some Brazilian Samba again.
Nissan is going into full gear late into the year, having just unveiled the facelifted 370Z at the Paris Motor Show last weekend. Now, Nissan is planning for another concept model for the forthcoming Sao Paulo Motor Show and a dramatic one it will be.
