BMW Asia launched the new BMW 7 Series - the flagship model that embodies sporting elegance, refined powertrain technology and luxurious comfort in equal measure - which is set to reinforce its position as the most innovative sedan in the luxury segment.

The optimum interior soundproofing of the BMW 7 Series takes the on-board experience another step towards perfection. Additional insulation materials in the B and C-pillars, skirts and boot area team up with intricate sealing around the window frames and exterior mirrors to minimise driving noise. Additionally, the new ambient lighting for the interior creates a pleasant ambience, especially at night. Footwell lights for the driver and front passenger and indirect roof liner illumination via lights integrated into the B-pillars further enhance the feeling of well-being. More notably, the colour of the ambient light can be altered according to taste.

Promising to develop more power but burn less fuel, this 4.4-litre eight-cylinder powerplant has been upgraded and it sports two turbochargers, Valvetronic, Double-VANOS and High Precision Direct Injection. In its latest development stage, the engine generates a peak output of 450bhp (an increment of 10%) and unleashes a mountain-moving peak torque of 650Nm (an increment of 8.5%) between 2,000 and 4,500rpm. Mated to the eight-speed automatic transmission, the BMW 750Li finishes the century sprint in just 4.8 seconds and progresses on to an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h.
The BMW 750Li also trumps its less powerful predecessor by a clear 25%, with an overall fuel consumption of 8.6L/100km and CO2 emissions recorded at 199 g/km.

The BMW 740Li has a 3-litre six-cylinder in-line engine that stands out with its majestic power and unparalleled high-revving character. The state-of-the-art powerplant is one of the first waves of highly efficient petrol engines to bring together BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, twin-scroll turbocharging, Double-Vanos variable camshaft timing and Valvetronic variable valve timing. The 740Li is is capable of producing 320bhp with a maximum 450Nm of torque on tap from as low as just 1,300rpm. As a result, the BMW 740Li has become quicker, with a century spint timing of at 5.7 seconds, and more fuel efficient, with a figure of 7.9L/100km compared to its predecessor.
The BMW 730Li, meanwhile, is equipped with a proven 3-litre straight-six petrol engine as before. Now with the new eight-speed automatic transmission, the BMW 730Li has similarly become faster. It dashes across the 100km/h mark within 7.5 seconds, has a better fuel efficiency of 8.7L/100km and lower CO2 emissions of 202g/km against its predecessor which was working with a six-speed transmission.
The new BMW 7 Series will be available at Performance Motors' showrooms from 5 October 2012.

On first glance, the large, full-width air intake dominates the lower section of the modified front apron and is now split into three sections while a pair of chrome bars mark its outer sections and add further depth to the car's sporty looks. Two narrow vertical air intakes sit beyond even the LED foglamps to the left and right of the wide intake. Adhering to the Efficient Dynamics philosophy, these are included as part of the 'air curtain' technology, which lowers fuel consumption at higher speeds by forcing the air to flow more aerodynamically around the front wheels.
