Aston Martin has revealed the new V12 Vantage.
This car, Aston Martin states, marks the end of the V12 Vantage bloodline, and will see only 333 examples built.
At the front, you'll identify the V12 from its enlarged front grille. The car also sports a redesigned front bumper and a full width front splitter. A distinct horse shoe-shaped engine vent has been integrated into the bonnet, facilitating cooling of the V12.
And at the rear, you won't miss the new wing, said to deliver up to 204kg of downforce at the car's top speed of 321km/h. A unique bumper here also houses an integrated diffuser and the car's lightweight centre mounted, twin tailpipe, exhaust system.
At the heart of the Aston Martin Vantage V12 is a 690bhp engine that pushes out 753Nm of torque from 1,800rpm to 6,000rpm, making it the most powerful Vantage V12 yet. That rounded torque curve also means the quad-cam 60-deg 5.2-litre will deliver on both low and mid-range muscularity with searing top-end power, and allows the car to reach 96km/h from a standstill in just 3.4 seconds.
All this power is sent to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, with a shift calibration that Aston Martin claims delivers a level of shift refinement and usability which is beyond that seen on dual-clutch gearboxes. A mechanical limited-slip differential mounted at the rear of the car then transfers this power onto the road.
The car also gets plenty of weight saving measures, which include a carbon fibre front bumper, clamshell bonnet, front fenders and side sills, as well as a composite rear bumper and deck lid, lightweight battery and a special centre-mounted twin-exit exhaust system.
And to hone the handling of the V12 Vantage, the car has been upgraded with new adaptive damping suspension system including new anti-roll bars, bushes, and spring and damper assemblies. These upgrades are backed with stiffened springs as well as upgraded braces to deliver a stiffer ride and chassis.
These changes are also supported by a new steering calibration, improving steering feel and delivering a sharper response. And for stopping power, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage features a Carbon Ceramic Braking system as standard.
In the cabin, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage sports the same archicture as the Vantage, but gets the firm's Sports Plus Seats trimmed in full semi-aniline leather featuring a unique quilt and perforation befitting of its status as a halo model.
Carbon fibre performance seats are also available, and those that wish to customise their vehicle will be glad to note that every V12 Vantage can be individually tailored through the marque's bespoke personalisation service, Q by Aston Martin.
First deliveries of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage are scheduled to begin from the second quarter of 2022. Aston Martin further states that all 333 examples have already been accounted for.
