The highly anticipated successor to the BMW M3 is unveiled - with a new name

While the M3 nameplate will still live on the four-door sedan model, its direct successor will be the M-badged 4 Series - the coupe and convertible variants to the F30 3 Series. Presented in a thinly veiled concept guise, the BMW M4 Coupe Concept is envisioned in an exclusive colour dubbed 'Aurum Dust'.

The classic BMW front facia with its double-kidney grille and a modern interpretation of the twin round headlamps provide the car with a distinctive identity.
A further striking feature is the vertical double bars on the kidney grille - imitating the characteristic M double spoke design of the BMW M wheels.
Viewed from the side, a streamlined, flat silhouette and an athletic body design characterise the BMW M4 Coupe Concept. Typical BMW proportions create an exceptionally dynamic appearance even when the car is at standstill.

The contoured CFRP roof characterises the BMW M4 Coupe Concept's technically innovative design. It reduces weight and ensures a lower centre of gravity, thus facilitating an even sportier driving experience. A rear spoiler lip is integrated into the trunk lid for optimum downforce.
The muscular rear end boasts a sculptural and broad appearance. The large shaded areas beneath the spoiler give the rear end an even flatter and athletic appearance.
At the same time, the flat taillights hugging the edges of the car, the wide track and the flared wheel arches underscore the car's stable stance on the road. Horizontal lines accentuate the car's width, lowering the visual centre of gravity even further.
Two pairs of twin carbon fibre tailpipes on either ends of the carbon fibre rear diffuser are neatly incorporated by the sculptural rear apron. No performance figures have been unveiled by the manufacturer and we hope to be enlightened further, perhaps, during the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Design elements give clear visual indication of the car's tremendous dynamic potential. For instance CFRP (Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastics) elements on the front splitter, the roof, and the rear diffuser underline the optimised lightweight concept down to the smallest detail.

Exclusively designed, bicoloured 20-inch M light alloy rims boast a sportive design, and the five-filigree double-spokes rims with polished outer surfaces reveal M Carbon ceramic brakes.
