Wearnes Automotive has launched the Rage Rover Sport SVR, the fastest, most powerful and most dynamically focused Land Rover ever produced.
Created by the brand's Special Vehicle Operations unit, the Range Rover Sport SVR is the first Land Rover to wear the new high-performance 'SVR' badge. Powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine producing 542bhp and 680Nm of torque, the Range Rover Sport SVR accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 4.7 seconds, and on to a electronically limited top speed of 260km/h.
In a world-first for Range Rover, the car features an electrically controlled two-stage active exhaust, which provides a vicious racecar-inspired sountrack at high revs while managing to be refined and subtle during city driving.
Atop the all-aluminium chassis (which also underpins the Range Rover Sport), the SVR features exterior design enhancements to increase its visual impact, as well as increasing cooling and aerodynamic efficiencies. Larger air intakes in the front bumper help to increase airflow to the air coolers, while the rear features a pronounced high-level spoiler, which reduces lift, and prominent SVR badging.
In the bespoke interior, the most notable change is the inclusion of leather bucket front seats and semi-bucket rear seats, highlighting the SVR's sporty persona. Typically found in high-performance cars, the bucket seats offer additional lateral support during spirited driving.
Developed at the Nurburgring, the SVR also boasts improved handling dynamics. The SVR features cross-linked, four-corner air suspenion and Adaptive Dampers, which instantaneously adjusts the damping force in response to road conditions and steering input. This works in conjuction with Active-Roll Control (ARC). In place of traditional anti-roll bars, ARC uses hydraulic pump actuaters to keep the body stable and eliminate body roll in corners, ensuring optimum control even when cornering at high speeds on a racetrack.
In a nod to its exclusive nature, the Range Rover Sport SVR is available in striking Extoril Blue, which is exclusive to this model. According to a Jaguar Land Rover representative, the Range Rover Sport SVR will cost approximately $650,000 inclusive of COE. This specced up model you see here, with the optional Meridian Signature Reference sound system and interior carbon fibre trim, will set you back around $680,000.
