2024 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy to take place in Namibia
31 Jan 2023|1,343 views
Having been held on all continents around the globe, the 2024 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy will be making a return to where it all began in 2008, to Africa.
BMW has announced that it will host the 2024 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy in Namibia. The sparsely-populated semi-presidential republic sports a climate that, while predominately warm and dry, also is no stranger to snow and frost with its inland highlands.
A well-developed road network spanning some 45,000km is offered in Namibia. However, only the trunk roads, some main roads and the main inner-city roads are asphalted. Meanwhile, close to 80% of the road network is made up of dirt tracks with a gravel base, making them ideal terrain for the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy.
