The Aston Martin DB5, one of the most iconic silver screen cars to appear on the silver screen, and probably the most sought after model in the 100-year rich Aston Martin history, will go under the hammer - courtesy of Silverstone Auctions. A star in its own right, the Aston Martin DB5 was featured in a number of James Bond films starting with Goldfinger, and more recently Skyfall. Silverstone Auctions will offer the 1965 Aston Martin DB5 at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show Sale in November.
The example being offered, is estimated within £280,000 to £310,000 (S$560,000 to S$621,000) - one of the first entries for the auction - and is reminiscent of the car utilised by the Mi6 agent, even down to its iconic Silver Birch colour.
Nick Whale, Managing Director at Silverstone Auctions, said, "This is probably one of the most sought-after models in the world and it's easy to see why. It's so much more than just a motor car, its style personified and possibly one of the best British cars ever made."
The DB5 on offer is no stranger to glamorous locations, having spent much of its life in Australia before being returning to the U.K. last year. Since then, it has benefited from an exterior restoration, paintwork refresh, black leather interior and also a detailed mechanical refurbishment. Presented with the car is an in-depth history file which includes invoices from various marque specialists, plus images showing various aspects of the work undertaken on the car.
