Lexus LF-CC Concept set for Paris stage and previews styling for 2014 IS

Earlier this month, Lexus promised to bring the LS 600h F-Sport as well as a new concept model to the upcoming Paris Motor Show. As it is, Lexus has delivered that promise by unveiling the new LF-CC Concept, a mid-sized coupe and possibly the styling reference for the 2014 IS. The concept model comes with a more aggressive variant of the company's spindle grille.

The grille mesh is framed by the hood’s leading edges while projecting the front fender tips and the deep lower spoiler which is encased in a deep surround with a metal finish. At the back, there is a full-width bumper flowing into the wheel arches.

Inside the cabin, there are two distinct zones of the dashboard: Display Zone and Operation Zone. The former has a multi-display screen installed on the upper side while latter provides access to the shift lever and also for the touch tracer display for the remote system control.

The LF-CC is powered by an all-new hybrid powertrain that delivers the performance expected of a premium coupe while emitting less than 100g/km of CO2 and will also power other models in the future. According to Lexus, the engine will churn out more than 2bhp for every gram of CO2 produced, thus hinting at a power figure of approximately 200bhp.

It comprises of an all-new 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection that runs on the more efficient Atkinson cycle and a compact, high-output, water-cooled permanent magnet electric motor.
